Free yourself from the leash of emotions, create who you want to be and a life you love.
Do you dislike how you behave when in pain?
Do you seek the company of the wrong person,
or act in a way that may regret later on?
Do you have severe anger outbursts?
Are your anger outbursts so severe that you feel out of control
and tend to feel bad about what you said or did?
Are you feeling disconnected, alone, and misunderstood?
Do you feel lonely even in the presence of other people?
Like no-one is going through what you’re going through
or that no-one can understand what you’re going through?
Do you seek comfort in self harm?
Has your pain been so severe and you found no way to self-soothe
except some sort of self harm like cutting or being with the wrong person?
Do you feel that you have more potential than you are realizing?
Do you feel that you have talents or strengths that you are not putting into
practice because something is blocking you or your emotions are in your way?
You’ve been going through a lot of pain for a long time but now you no longer have
to feel this way.
In life, we all face challenging issues (some quite severe) and sometimes it can
be difficult to decide where to turn for help.
I have developed a flexible program for people go from being sad,(miserable even)
who have overwhelming emotions that has
caused havoc in their life to finding meaning in life, liking themselves, living
a life of purpose and learning to manage their
often very high emotions so that they can be the person they wish to be!
I provide counseling for anxiety, panic, depression, borderline personality disorder
and the highly sensitive individual.
Hello, my name is Dina Farid, and I am a certified mental health counselor based in Cairo, Egypt.
I’ve always had a passion for psychology, but it got stronger when, as an emotional sensitive person myself, I had my own emotional turmoil that turned my life upside down. I had my own journey of healing. It made me wholeheartedly believe in the possibility of recovery AND to live a life aligned with who I am. It also motivated me to further pursue my studies and receive my Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and to use my knowledge and experience to help others.
I’m also a wife and a mother of two beautiful children. I draw on both my local and international training to provide a high level of support to individuals who are coping with different types of mental health issues and challenges. I provide individual and group counseling, I also hold workshops on a variety of topics.
I was raised in the Emirates, traveled to Canada to study psychology in the University of Guelph, I completed my undergraduate university studies here in Egypt in City University. Right after graduating university I have worked in multinationals in both the emirates and in Egypt. I later decided to continue what I had started and to return to the field of psychology and I got my masters in Mental Health counseling from Adams State University in the U.S.
In 2012, in support of woman’s rights, I launched one of the first anti-harassment movements in Egypt, and educated other newer movements, I was invited to the woman counsil in 2013 and again in 2015. Because of the combined efforts of all the anti-harassment movements an Anti-sexual harassment law was finally passed. I was named one of 145 most woman of impact for the year 2013 by Newsweek magazine. I was invited to many TV shows to speak about our initiative and the cultural and social reasons behind this epidemic.
My offices are located in Sheikh Zayed,6 October and Maadi
Dina Farid MA, NCC(BPD) is a mental illness that makes it hard for a person to feel comfortable in themselves, causes problems controlling emotions and impulses, and causes problems relating to other people. ... BPD is a treatable condition and most people with BPD can recover
Highly sensitive people are the 15 to 20 percent of the population who process stimulation deeply, from sights to sounds to emotions. Also called Sensory Processing Sensitivity, being an HSP means you experience life “turned up”.
Anxiety disorders are a group of mental disorders characterized by significant feelings of anxiety and fear. Anxiety is a worry about future events, and fear is a reaction to current events. ... The disorder differs by what results in the symptoms. People often have more than one anxiety disorder.
While we all feel sad, moody or low from time to time, some people experience these feelings intensely, for long periods of time (weeks, months or even years) and sometimes without any apparent reason. Depression is more than just a low mood – it's a serious condition that affects your physical and mental health.
A panic attack is the abrupt onset of intense fear or discomfort that reaches a peak within minutes and includes at least four of the following symptoms: Palpitations, pounding heart, or accelerated heart rate. Sweating. Trembling or shaking. Sensations of shortness of breath or smothering.
People with low self-esteem often think of themselves in very critical ways, such as “I’m not good enough,” “I’m a failure,” or “I’ll never amount to anything.”.
